Fundraisers/Community Outreach
Each fall, we make apple butter to sell for $5/pint. We also offer one day self-defense seminars to people who want to learn, but maybe can't attend regular classes for a $10 donation. We have been lucky enough to have local businesses offer products and services for raffles to be held at our fundraising events as well. All of the proceeds from our fundraisers are used to help needy families in our community. We have helped families with young children who are ill.
I have been studying martial arts since I was 14 years old. I started Kenpo in 2003 and fell in love with the Tracey Kenpo Karate system. I have studied under 
My interest in martial arts started because my dad used to show me cool kicks and stuff. My favorite part is doing forms (Katas) and I love sparring. I was the first female black-belt my instructor had ever promoted in his 20 years of teaching. I like cross-training, especially in Muay Thai under 
Samantha started Karate when she was 5. She became a junior leader when she was a blue belt and was promoted to junior instructor when she became a green belt. She really likes to work with staffs and commas; her favorite move is “Dancer”. She loves working with the kids in class and seeing them progress. Samantha is Shawna’s mini-me. Her current rank is Jr. Brown I. She is working on her Black/White III. Besides Karate at 12 years old, she loves working with animals on a farm and hanging out with her friends.
Gavin started Karate when he was 4 and became a junior instructor when he became a green belt. He is a typical silly 10 year old boy and enjoys working hard and having fun. He is fantastic with nunchaku. His current rank is Jr. Brown II, working toward his Jr. Brown I.
